Recovery from the pinna reconstructive surgery
Recovery from the pinna reconstructive surgery.
The recovery process from the pinna reconstructive surgery starts immediately after the surgery ends.
After the surgery, the patient remains in the hospital for about a week and is examined and treated daily by the surgeon.
The patient will continue the treatment at home according to the instructions received from the hospital, and will provide an optimal protection to the new pinna for 6 weeks after the surgery.
For a period of 3-6 months, the pinna must be protected at night (while sleeping) by using a special bandaging. This treatment is required until the sensation appears in the new pinna.
